Contact my Congressman (Steve Bishop)? – what a joke!
I wrote to him 3 times over the last 4 months. Each time I received a canned response "Thank you for your email… it is important to me…I will get back to you shortly…" Baloney – never heard from him.

But, I did start getting "Look what a great job I'm doing" newsletters from him. It became so annoying that I just put a block on him.

Thank you Steve for taking a stand. I am very concern about the direction our country is headed.. I don't know how else to say it but "I want my country back". I am angry, sad and scare, but I am ready to fight…I'm still wondering how did we get here!! I love my country with great passion and feel it is the greatest country on the face of the earth and we are truly bless by God mercy and I see it slowly rotting away………..lsw

I can't believe the congressmen & women from Long Island (a bastion of the middle class) are falling for thesocialist agenda of the left wing of the Democratic Party. Only Peter King speaks out against this stuff. We are the highest taxed region in the country and they think we can afford more taxes. I don't know who elects these people – nobody I know. Makes me sad.

I've been reading alot about The USSR…It seems the function of the KGB was to investigate "Economic Crimes" against the state. Anyone that was against any of the gov'ts plans were subject to arrest and worse. Sounds eerily similar to the new Obama plan to monitor emails that point out the fallacy of his programs. Coming next from Washington "The Thought Police".
The liberals decried GWB and the NSA for protecting us from foreign enemies. Not a peep from them about this gov't intrusion.

something to think about.
I had my sprinter freightliner serviced a few weeks ago at a facility in Hartford CT. When it came back WOR710 and several other radio stations that host conservitive talk radio no longer picked up the signal on AM bands. But no sports ormainstream media networks were affected. Isn't it amazing that this vehicle is a Chrysler product.
When I complained to the dealership about this issue I was told " AM is a thing of the past listen to FM."

Urine Test — This guy has a point! This was written by a construction worker in Fort McMurray . Read on . . .

I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes, and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to earn that pay check, I work on a rig site for a Fort McMurray construction project. At any time I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem. HOWEVER, what I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Understand – I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their ass, drink beer and smoke dope. Could you imagine how much money this country would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? If you agree, please pass this along, or simply delete if you don't. Hope you will pass it along though, because something has to change in this country.
Seems like a good beginning…..

The news is that the cash for clunkers program that was receintly raised from $1 bil to $3 bil is not able to process claims fast enough and only about 2% of the first amount has been distributed. This distribution is apparently being done by some 380 or so employees. If done with any efficience that would be about 2,000 applications per employee. But no, they are now going to increase the employees to about 1100. Eother their system is bad or once again it is pork. I wonder if these government jobe will ever be terminated.

I am so completely outraged each an everyday and everytime I think they've topped themselves it gets worse…
the other night, i was wandering around on the web trying to read for myself the Wall Street Journal's recent editorial by Whole Foods CEO John Mackey, and came across this incredibly insane web site called
OpenLeft.org ….you should all check it out to see just the kind of ignorance we're fighting…these people are so full of self-rightous crap it's disgusting. By the way, I found Mr. Mackey's ideas to be refreshing, and I intend to not only start shopping there asap, but probably also to buy some stock in his company. They say we've awoken a "sleeping giant"…well everybody this is JUST BREAKFAST!

I am a small businessman. I can't believe the lies that are told everyday by the media and politicians. I have waited 3 years for a rezone in an area of Brooklyn that can use all help it can get. We promised affordable housing as part of package. Our answer is the Mayor has more important projects. We can employ 20 people and house as many with cheap rent all for under $3.5 million, using our own financing. A recent NYC project used $4-6 million seed money and then raised $14 million more to establish the same amount of permanent jobs. I ask you, who can do things better, the Government or the Private Sector?

I find all this "take back America" and "Stand up for America" slogan stuff disingenuous and ridiculous. I'm completely fine with people having a different opinion and different views. If you don't care whether people other than yourselves have healthcare, thats fine. We all don't care about the same things. If you don't trust government, I'm not going to argue with that at all. The thing I find so disheartening is that you people seem to feel that yelling, disrupting and at times lying is the way to get your positions to be put in place.

All this Marxist talk is insane. I am not in favour of governemnt run healthcare, but even if I was, it doesn't make me a communist. Conservatives seem to love social programs when they help their interests (Subsidies for farmers, subsidies for American businesses, Medicare, Social Security), but when a very similar program is suggested that's aim is to allow everyone to have basic healthcare its now supposed to be part of some massive communist plot. Where in the world is the correlation?

Did any of you people go to school and learn basic logic? How in the world does TARP or bail outs of the auto industry have anything to do with communism. Dealing with "ifs" is of no value, but given that the Bush administration passed a $300billion stimulous of their own and also pushed and passed the TARP program how can anyone not see the likihood that they would have passed another stimulous and also continued the business bailouts? Its very likely that McCain would have done the very same thing, but done the stimulous through tax rebates and military spending. In the end, all the TARP money will be repaid, or close to 90% anyway and this will be done with substantial interest.

The only business that will likely not repay is AIG and this again is a company bailed out by Republicans to begin with. My final comment is to plead with all of you to come to the table or the debate with the idea that perhaps you may be wrong or that a path other than yours may be correct. I really feel that I do this. I've heard some really good ideas about healthcare from Republicans recently (capping malpractice lawsuit awards, healthcare rebates for low income workers etc), but in the end there are people with NO JOBS that have NO income that need help now. There are people losing their homes and lives because of the current healthcare system. Its not the BEST in the world. I've lived in several countries and trust me, we are good, but we aren't the best. No matter where you go, if you have money you'll get quality care. The purpose of the president's healthcare plan is to allow those in America who lose coverage or have none will be able to get it. Healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. Wake up, its the christian thing to do.

Now this is a good idea…. a simple straight forward idea. Only problem I see, what if your parent is one of those losers? Do children suffer? Should the children be taken away from the parents? I mean if the parents can't get help, what happens to the kids? You'd have to create a ton of drug programs and foster homes to make this system work without children suffering, but the principle makes sense. Nice idea

Garbage like "Death Panels" or "Obama isn't a citizen" are the types of things that typifies the things conservatives throw out there.

One question,why can't our representatives be made to adhere to any law, program, etc. that is supposedly for our own good. Why are they exempt-if it is good for us IT MUST BE FOR ALL-NO EXCEPTIONS FROM THE PRESIDENT ON DOWN!! Maybe the American voter would acquire a better perspecive of our elected officials.
My question is how do we acomplish this? it definitely should be enacted. Also, I understand that raises of salaries and additional funding has been approved for the politicians and or their staff-another slap in the face of the American Public.!!

Vaccination: Almost without exception, the TV medical spokes persons urge that especially children should be vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus. Well, not the school age first daughters, of course! WH Press Secretary Gibbs declared that the vaccine is not available to them based on their risk. At this time only children with chronic medical conditions are receiving the vaccination … So, why the general media hype to the contrary …. Please follow that story. The moment the First kids will get the vaccination, it's time for our kids too. Until then, lean back and relax ….
